Overview

The Q is a permitted, shared-use commercial kitchen and commissary in Boaz. Operators select a tier based on the amount of scheduled kitchen time needed each month. Tier fees cover booked access time.


Kitchen Access Tiers (Monthly)

Tier prices are all-inclusive for normal use (utilities + shared cleaning/sanitizing supplies included). Excessive or abnormal usage may require surcharge or tier upgrade.

Tier 0 — $70/month
Includes 2 booked hours per month.

Includes 4 booked hours per month.

Includes 20 booked hours per month.

Tier 3 — $940/month
Includes 40 booked hours per month.

Getting Started: A one-time Operator Onboarding Fee of $100 applies to all operators and covers orientation, required documentation, key issuance, and initial scheduling/setup. The fee is due upon signing and before beginning service at The Q.


  • Booked hours include setup, production time, and cleanup/reset. Booked hours are the hours reserved on the calendar.
  • All tiers are scheduled in advance; hours include setup and cleanup.
  • Tier 5 is intended for high-volume operators and may require additional storage arrangements based on availability.

Deposits (Refundable Security Deposit)

Tier 0–1 require no deposit. Tier 2–5 require a refundable security deposit prior to first use.

Deposit schedule:

  • Tier 2: $250 refundable
  • Tier 3: $350 refundable
  • Tier 4: $500 refundable
  • Tier 5: $750 refundable

Deposits are due prior to first use and prior to receiving keys/access devices. Deposits may be applied to unpaid charges, excessive cleaning/failure to reset, damage, missing items, or key/lock replacement. Deposits are refunded after termination and return of all keys/access devices (less any documented deductions).


Additional Hours / Overage Time

If you need more hours than your tier includes, additional time must be scheduled in advance and is billed as follows:

  • Additional kitchen time: $25 per booked hour (subject to availability)
  • Time is scheduled in the calendar and includes setup and cleanup.

Add-Ons

Smoker Room (10’ Lang Wood-Fired Smoker)

Smoker access is available only to tiered operators (Tier 0 and above) and must be reserved in advance.

Smoker Add-On: $575/month per smoker operator

What’s included:

  • 1 scheduled smoking production unit per week
  • use of the 10′ Lang wood-fired smoker
  • access to the smoker room during that scheduled production time
  • participation in the smoker cleaning program

A smoking production unit means one reserved smoker session of up to 14 hours in a single day. That 14-hour window may be used for smoking, cooling, and packaging as part of the same production run. This is intended to provide enough time for most wood-fired meat production, though certain longer cooks, such as brisket, may require special planning.

Operators must furnish their own seasoned hardwood and follow the posted smoker room reset checklist after each session. All smoker use is subject to The Q’s food-safety standards, scheduling rules, time discipline, and cleanup requirements.

Smoker Trial Production Unit (One-Time): $175

The Smoker Trial Production Unit is a one-time opportunity for an approved operator to reserve and use The Q’s 10′ Lang wood-fired smoker without first becoming a tiered kitchen operator.

What’s included:

  • 1 scheduled smoking production unit
  • up to 14 hours in a single day
  • use of the 10′ Lang wood-fired smoker
  • reserved access to the smoker room during that session

  • advance scheduling required
  • limit one trial per operator/business
  • operator must furnish seasoned hardwood
  • operator must follow all posted food-safety, cleanup, and smoker room reset requirements

The Smoker Trial Production Unit is intended as a genuine try-out for operators who may be interested in ongoing smoker use at The Q.

If the trial is a good fit, the operator may then move into the regular Smoker Add-On available to tiered operators.

Chargrill Add-On

  • Available to tiered operators (Tier 0+) and must be scheduled
  • $25 per 90-minute block
  • Includes reset supplies + deep-clean reserve
  • Operators furnish approved fuel (charcoal or hardwood) and must follow the posted reset checklist after each session.

Commissary Only (Non-Production) — For Food Trucks & Mobile Operators

Commissary service provides a permitted “home base” for servicing—without renting kitchen production time.

Commissary service is non-production. No cooking, food prep, or food production is permitted under Commissary Only. All visits are scheduled in advance (by appointment).

Option A: Commissary Starter — $125/month

Best for operators who need occasional servicing.

Includes (scheduled):

  • Up to 4 scheduled visits per month (30 minutes each)
  • Fresh water fill
  • Gray water disposal (reasonable volume)
  • Trash disposal (reasonable volume)
  • Access to hand sink and mop sink for servicing only (no food prep/cooking)
  • Used cooking oil/grease disposal (cooled oil only; reasonable volume)

All servicing follows posted procedures; excessive or unusual volumes may require an additional fee.

Additional scheduled visits: $20 each (pre-approved).

Option B: Commissary Standard — $200/month

Best for active operators who need regular weekly servicing.

Includes (scheduled):

  • Up to 2 scheduled visits per week (30 minutes each)
  • Fresh water fill
  • Gray water disposal (reasonable volume)
  • Trash disposal (reasonable volume)
  • Access to hand sink and mop sink for servicing only (no food prep/cooking)
  • Used cooking oil/grease disposal (cooled oil only; reasonable volume)

All servicing follows posted procedures; excessive or unusual volumes may require an additional fee.

Additional scheduled visits: $20 each (pre-approved).

Commissary Only plans are all-inclusive servicing packages and are billed separately from kitchen tiers.

Important: Unauthorized production (any cooking/food prep without a kitchen tier booking) is billed at 1.5× the Tier 1 hourly rate and may result in suspension or required tier upgrade.
